Hoppy Easter :)

 Easter picture post!

The boys got their baskets *first* thing in the morning.. yawn... lol... and then we took some photos and headed to church.

We had the nursery yesterday, so unfortunately we didn't get too much out of the worship service that morning. But I could still hear all the hymns.. and whether the kiddos liked it or not, I was singing right along in there :)

Then it was off to the Himes' for lunch and outdoor/kite-flying/t-ball fun and chatting.

After that we went over to my mom's and for what seemed like the first time ever, actually got to eat our delicious Easter dinner outside. It was so beautiful out!

Then we just hung out outside all evening while all the boys ran around and played in the yard.

All in all, it was a really nice day. I didn't get too stressed (even over pictures! Yes, I'll take that virtual high five now :) ) and there was lots of just relaxing and visiting on a gorgeous, sunny day.

Sort of wish every day could be like that.

 Baskets full of fun

 Goobers.

They were in a good mood.

 Daddy's funny :)

And Mommy was saying some pretty silly things in order to get some smiles.
(But in all honesty, "Say Cheese!" just doesn't really do it around here... "Say Mommy has Stinky Feet!" is much more likely to get real grins :) )

 Look how beautiful they are♥

But it's no shocker. Look where they came from. :)

 All of us!

And even though most days are spent in mis-matching old clothes,  I think we can clean up pretty well when the time comes :)

My very minor contribution to Easter lunch: Carrot Cut Outs!

After church. Me and my handsome husband.

 Lol. They were done.

 Silly, rowdy, handsome, crazy boys♥

Egg-splosive Easter Fun

It was the day before Easter. And it was 5 pm. And, as usual, I was running out of time.

We still hadn't colored eggs yet. (Sometimes I don't even know what I do with my days...)

But at the last minute I began thinking about the whole thing.. and how messy but boring it would inevitably be.

Messy I was ok with. It's coloring eggs with little kids. It's just part of the deal.

But the boring part was nagging at me. Put the egg in the colored water... and wait.

Snoozefest, if you're a little boy, right?

So I took to Pinterest.

And stumbled upon the idea of "Volcano Eggs." We gave it a try.

I mixed up some baking soda, food coloring, and a bit of water to make a paste like consistency for "paint." Then let the boys have at it.

Once the eggs were painted, we dipped them in vinegar... and thoroughly enjoyed the bubbly display.

With just the right amount of effort and mess, the end result was a pretty, pastel-y, marbled look.

Not too shabby for a fun little Easter activity :)

Deep in artistic concentration...

 .. sort of. :)

                                                                                                       Bridger loved it.

Holden  - the sweet and careful painter.

And Graham really seems to have a more
"how many things can I possibly get paint on?" approach. Ha.

All painted up with the baking soda mixture and ready
        for the vinegar bath!

 Here we go!

Definitely more fun than just waiting for them to turn colors in the mugs like usual :)

Pretty♥
