"Everything is Awesome!"

If you haven't seen the new Lego Movie, our Halloween costumes this year might not make quite as much sense to you..

Here's a super brief synopsis (taken from IMDb):

"An ordinary Lego construction worker, thought to be the prophesied 'Special', is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the Lego universe into eternal stasis."

So hopefully now you'll get it a smidge more.

Because, guys, ♫ "Everything is Awesome!"♪♫

Hee hee :)

And ok, I'll just tell you up front, I spent way too much time on these. There's no good reason and nothing to justify the silly amount of thought/time/effort that went into these.. for the quantity of time they were actually used. It was totally unnecessary. I get that.

But you know what? I love it.

It's fun for me. And it makes me smile.

Making things is my hobby. And in all honesty, I am just truly happy all those times that I'm buried deep in a project... just creating.

And I enjoyed just about every second of making these costumes this year. (Except maybe the foam clean-up part... MAN. It looked like it SNOWED in the garage when I was cutting/carving foam for the hair! Ha.)

So yea... Are they perhaps a tad over the top? Yes.

Was it unnecessary? YES.

But did I have a whole lot of fun in the meantime? YEP :)

....................................

And now... The... MAIN EVENT!!!

OK, so first, I'll show you the inspiration (again, just in case you didn't see the movie):

And now.... My Lego Boys!!

Don't they look awesome?

The lovable hero, Emmet! Played by our shy trooper, Bridger.

The cold-hearted President/Lord Business! Played by our dashing, wonderful, goofball Holden.

See? Goofball.

And who could forget this quintessential piece? The one thing that threatens to destroy all of the Lego universe by permanently gluing them in place forever?? This poor pawn, being wielded against his will (not so far from the truth, lol) to be used as a figure of menace??

The KRAGLE!

Played by our reluctant and under-the-weather (but still super cute!), Graham.

So there you have it!
Here was everyone all dressed up and posing together before Trick-or-Treat

I see some eyes peeking out, in there... Hehe....

Here's the backside

Here is looks like they're about to get into a Lego THROW-DOWN.

And I'll leave you with this.

Dancing, silly, life-sized Legos.♥

♫♪♫ "Everything is AWESOME!!!!!" ♫♪♫...........

(I hope you're humming it now... I know I am :) )

A Little Fall Fun

Saturday was beautiful. And it was time for a little outdoor Fall Fun :)

We started by getting the van serviced... so, ya know... not tons of fun. Ha. But we did get to hang out outside on the little gazebo while we waited. And one of the nice men working there even brought each of the boys a balloon! So that certainly added to the fun :)

And then we were off to a pumpkin patch to choose a few "perfect" pumpkins for our Halloween jack-o-lanterns!

 The boys loved the hayride

The muddy, bumpy, rough and exciting hayride :)

 It was sorta windy.....

                               .... but super fun :)

Pap Pap, Mimi, and Bryce enjoying the ride!

 This silly kid♥

 Heading out to hunt!

Hmm... which one to choose...

 Big kid

So... not our best photo... but hey, at least they're all in it.♥

And then it was off to the railroad for a track car ride!

 Here they come!

And after a short wait, it was our turn!

The riders! All pumped and ready to go!

It was super bumpy/jolty, way loud, and pretty short. But ya know, it was something no one's ever done before (and probably won't ever do again).

And it sure was a fun memory to make.♥

One Less Wiggler

We have officially lost our first baby tooth!

Holden came home from school a couple weeks ago with a serious wiggler. And could hardly wait for Daddy to pull it...

I think it took 10 seconds. Ha. It was barley hangin' on by a thread, that one.

 It's out!

And he was super proud to show off his gap!

And then... tragedy struck. Ha.

We carefully placed his tooth in an envelope for the tooth fairy.

And then next morning, when he awoke, at first he thought she didn't come... since the envelope was still there under his pillow.

So I told him to open it up and see if his tooth was still inside... *wink wink*...

.... and open it he did.

I mean... who knew he was going to rip the whole thing straight IN HALF. !!

So.. we wrote the kind-hearted Tooth Fairy and apology letter and we will place it under his pillow as soon as he loses his next tooth (which should be any day now).

Lesson learned. Always supervise the opening of envelopes around these jokesters! Oh my..
