My Wild Things

Let's just be open and honest and get this out of the way...  it's December.

I KNOW.

But I feel like this current post and the next few coming up are really going to give you a good insight as to where I am right now in life.

Everything is super duper just pretty much like sort of... whatever.

Ha.

So we sold our house, bought our dream land, moved everything we own into storage, moved all 5 of us (plus a big ol' dog and 2 kitties) into 2 bedrooms in my mom's basement for a little over month, the boys started school, then a week later we moved again... this time into a rental house... and we moved everything we own back out of storage and in with us.

So.. yea. It's been a period of adjusting. And I really just feel like we still in the early stages of one really really long upheaval/adjustment period...

SO! Instead of freaking out about all the things I can't control right now... (which is basically all of them... all of the things....I am in control of nothing) while we readjust to living in a home we don't own and try to figure out this whole building-a-new-home-thing is supposed to go.... I'm trying to let go more.

And do more things that just make me happy. (Which is probably way we went to the Wilderness Center a record number of times for us this Fall.. just to walk and breathe and take it in.)

And topping the list of 'things that make me happy': is creating.

So this year, for HALLOWEEN (please see above. I already told you I knew it was December. ha.), we were FINALLY all moved and had all of our stuff back with us.... and I was FINALLY able to dig my sewing machine and all my supplies out.... and I went way beyond anything necessary (but I was just so excited to finally be sewing again!!) ... to transform these 3 little boys into some super fun characters from Maurice Sendek's Where the Wild Things Are.

My Wild Things howling and acting wild :)

Holden as the classic Striped and Scaly Wild Thing

Bridger Dean as the fierce bull Wild Thing

And Graham as our adorable Max
