Today is the 50th day of school this year for Holden.... So, to mark the occasion, they are having a 1950's-themed celebration!
All the students were encouraged to get into the spirit of things, by dressing the part.
And since we were fresh out of child-sized leather jackets.... we had to make due with some cuffed jeans, a popped collar, a slicked back hair 'do, and canvas sneakers.
Hopefully it comes across... it's the thought that counts, right? :)
So, here was our 1950's super cool guy this morning.....
So cute, right?! ♥
Mr. Cool... just hanging out... lookin' handsome.
(Short story. This kid's hair is STICK STRAIGHT. So last night we gooped it up and put it in tiny little twisted hairbands all over the top of his head to sleep in... trying for any type of texture. The Brothers thought it looked like fun... and also wanted ponytails. Because - here's the best part - they think it makes them ponies. Like it's some kind of pretend game we were playing, and they wanted in on it, too. Haha. I put them in and heard them running around going, "Look! I'm a pony, too!" My kids are so GOOFY.)
♥
... and then he tried to watch tv before the bus came...
But I needed just like 1 or 2 more pictures... just for a sec....
.....so my sweetheart boy obliged me.
Yea.
This dude.
And now I can't wait for him to get home so we can hear all about how 50's day went!
I hope it's oodles and oodles of
poodle-skirt-spinnin',
root-bear-float-sippin',
greased-back-hair-slickin'
Rockin'-Robin-boppin' FUN!
:)
